Karen has been a massage therapist since 1996 and became a Bowenwork Practitioner in 2013. She enjoys working with people and making them feel better. Many people carry stress differently and each person compensates in their own way, thus causing problems unique to their body. Through the years, Karen has found to specialize in Deep Tissue and Therapeutic Massage with Relaxation. She does this by listening to the client's issues with their body and how they want to feel after the massage. She is an advocate of using Joint Range of Motion to all the joints and believe this helps loosen the origins and insertions of the muscles. Although this is not the intent, as the body and muscles relax, many clients have notice that their bones mobilize back into natural alignment.
In 2013, Karen learned about the Bowenwork method. Bowenwork originated in Australia in the 1950s and is it's own entity as a light body work modality. This technique uses specific body movements with intermittent pauses to stimulate the body's natural healing process. It helps reset muscle tension patterns and effectively achieve optimal health. Because of the intermittent pauses, our Bowenwork practitioner is able to work on two bodies at once. This is a great a time to bring a friend!
